Hello reader, you may call me Leo, and let’s keep it real. I am looking for someone to correspond with, because believe it or not, even with all the correction officers, fellow inmates, and other staff personnel in prison, it gets lonely.

I like to think of myself as a terrific writer, and if you give me a chance then you will not be disappointed. I would now like to share something intimate with you, prison saved my life.

Today I am better off than when I was free, because even though I was working and attending community college, I was not free the way I am free now.

I know what I did was wrong, and I deserve to be in prison. I don’t want to repeat my mistakes, and I believe a good pen pal will be able to help me think clearer. I live a sober lifestyle now because I choose to and I love it. Life is good, and I have my Lord and Savior to thank for who I am today.

Hello, I’m looking for a nice friend. My hobbies are exercising, reading, writing, fishing, and listening to music. All kinds of music. I’m open to meet whomever that wants to get to know me. There’s not too much I’m looking for in a friend, but be sweet and yourself. I am genuine, loving, caring, and optimistic about life. I have learned a lot during my incarceration, and the biggest thing is learning to have patience. I have completed several cognitive programs to better myself during my incarceration. I was young upon coming to prison, but I will be a mature man leaving out. I miss doing all the small things in life, such as walks in the park, hiking, or just to have dinner with family. I’m 5 in on 30 fighting a wrongful conviction and trying like HELL just to go home. I say this so you know that, on the off-chance my post conviction fails, I have 10 years left before I’m ever eligible for parole.

So why am I writing??? Because I’m bored. Who / what am I looking for? Honestly I don’t rightly know, but I’ll recognize it when I see it I’m sure. Whether it’s platonic, romantic, financial, or legal.

I do know that whatever it is I want something different, something real. I’m so over being the guy with no roots, no attachments, no family. Of not having one girlfriend but twenty with no substance to any relationship beyond the physical. I’m tired of being an emotional vagabond, letting my past be my excuse to remain detached, uncommitted, and unavailable.

That’s where I’m at. Not sure it matters if I get a response here, the point was honesty and transparency, to try something new.
